Nordic Outdoor’s Flagship Store in Edinburgh
Nordic Outdoor opened a new flagship store within Edinburgh’s new St. James Quarter on 24 June.
Our specialist steel fabricators manufactured several items for this new shop.
- 2 sets of shaped angle iron window displays with threaded rod hangers.
- A feature table archway display frame.
- The cash desk steel cladding with laser-cut logo.
- A wall cabinet display unit (Axe Museum).
All were manufactured from mild steel with just a simple clear lacquer finish, to complement the natural look of the store.
In June 2021 Nordic Outdoor opened their most exciting store to date, a concept flagship store within the St. James Quarter Edinburgh. Working with local design agency Four-By-Two we created a store environment unlike any other outdoor store and one which perfectly showcased a blend of urban detailing and natural materials. As part of the build we required a number of custom built steel fabrications; including a 2m high arch, lockable axe display case and laser cut cash desk cladding. These were integral to the design and we knew of Blake’s reputation within Edinburgh which made them an obvious choice for the job. To add complications the timescale for the build was an excruciatingly tight two weeks however this wasn’t a problem to the team over at Blakes.
Within 10 days of approving the designs we were installing our custom steel into the shopfloor meaning we could launch the complete store in an unthinkably short timeframe. The steelwork was brilliantly crafted to our exact specifications and when we found a slight problem with the arch display this was rectified by Blakes within an hour to ensure the job got done. Since launch we have found customers love the design and feel of the store and this wouldn’t have been possible without assistance from the team at Blake’s. A special mention to Kenny who was always available to assist with any issues and answer any queries we may have, with something as specialised as this it is always brilliant to know there’s an expert on the other end of the phone who can give you the right answers.
While we enjoy the new store and it’s detailing we’re already planning our next project and will be sure to use the Blake Group again.
