Mechanical and Electrical experts and long term clients, Arthur McKay, approached Blake Group to provide large scale air duct plenum for the Scottish Parliament building. Unusual in design and complex to manufacture, three of the air system components were ‘lobster backs’ an industry term used to describe the odd shaped funnels.

Arthur McKay was established as an electrical contracting business in Edinburgh in 1958. Founded by Arthur McKay himself, it started as a ‘man and van’ operation and is now part of the Atalian Servest Group, a world-wide leader in facilities management.
